My Story

Having 'accidentally' received a place in this April's London Marathon through the ballot it seemed like the logical thing would be to use that running fitness to enter Ride London and cycle 100 miles in May too....and then if I'm going to be putting myself through two challenges it would be a great opportunity to raise money for 2 incredible charities, set up by some very good friends of mine.

The Ickle Pickle Children's Charity

After their son Charlie was born 3 months prematurely at St George's Hospital in Tooting, Andy and Rachael set up The Ickle Pickle Children's Charity to help raise money for the neonatal unit.  Initially fundrasing was based around St Georges's, but now they fundraise for units nationally turning donations into specialised equipment such as incubators and ventilators to help NNUs provide incredible levels of care for sick and premature babies.

Play It Forward

When Olly first visited Zambia in 2009, he was staggered by the number of orphans living in abject poverty without basic needs such as access to clean water, toilets or an education. On returning to the UK, he became involved in raising money for these children, initially through his company, but then establishing a foundation to collaborate with local charity partners and the Livingstone Youth Football Academy. Play it Forward was developed from a vision that people’s love for football can be used to reach some of the most vulnerable young people in Southern Zambia, using football to change lives.

I understand that at this time we are all conscious of how and where we spend our money, but I hope, like me, you believe that these two charities deserve our support as we all pull together to help those less fortunate than ourselves.

(Donations received will be split equally between these two amazing charities.)

Thank you so much for your support.

Matt.
