Gemma's running the Southampton Half Marathon for RHCH neonatal unit

My Story
THANK YOU SO MUCH TO EVERYONE FOR SPONSORING ME AND HELPING ME REACH MY TARGET!
I've wanted to give something back to the neonatal unit at Winchester RHCH since Arden spent time there and I am really grateful for all your support xxx
I'm running the Southampton Half Marathon on April 7th 2024 to challenge myself to do a distance race for the first time in many years!
I'm raising money for the neonatal unit at Royal Hampshire County Hospital in Winchester.
Our youngest daughter Arden became very ill soon after she was born in October 2021 with hemolytic diease of the newborn; it was very scary and it all became serious very quickly and unexpectedly. She was transferred to the neonatal intensive care unit at Southampton General, and she then spent three weeks in Winchester NNU. No-one imagines spending time in a neonatal unit with their newborn. It was the most difficult time of my life, but I'll always be grateful for the time I spent there. I was able to see the amazing care and work that happens there, and to meet the staff who looked after me while I was there, as well as nursing Arden back to health.
We are so lucky we were able to bring Arden home; I'm hoping I can give something back through this fundraising, and that it will give me the motivation to get through the miles!
